John Ashworth of Anderson, South Carolina is being charged with armed robbery after CCTV footage of the incident was released to the public.

Ashworth is seen on tape shopping at a Stop-A-Minit convenience store. He eventually heads to the counter to purchase a soda, and attempts to grab cash from the cash register drawer when the cashier opens it. The cashier managed to close the drawer halfway, prompting Ashworth to present a note to her, demanding cash. He explains that she won’t be harmed if she does what he says, and gestures to indicate that he is armed.

Ashworth was arrested on Tuesday, shortly after CCTV footage was released to the public.
